The other day King Humbert received the following curious letter : — " My dear Signor Eing, — I have heard a good deal about the Queen's beautiful dresses, and should like to have a good look at them. lam told, however, that the Queen ia not hero at present, but no doubt you have got the keys. Ju_t now, in the holidays, I have plenty of time.' Pray do Bhow me everything, and write, dear Signor King, to say when I am to come. Marrietta Leoni, pupil in the fifth form." The King got one of his secretaries to write the following reply : — " My dear Marrietta, — "Sour King sends you his kind regards, and says that he does not like to see so much curiosity in a little girl. BeBidea, he cannot, with the best of wishea, accede to your request, for the Queen is a capital housewife, and before going away she carefully put everything into her cupboards and drawers, and has taken the keys with her."— Der Bund.
