ANNUAL MEETING. [Pbb Press Association.] TIMAEU, Feb. 9. At the Harbour Board meeting to-day, the annual report and balance-sheet showed unexpended balance on the 188G loan account .£81,248 83 2d, and unexpended balance on the general account .£265 lis *Dd. Thia statement has been submitted to the Board's Auditor, and agreed to by j him. These balances will, therefore, [be the ones -to be carried forward 'on eaoh account for 1887. The unallotted ; and available balanoe of the 1886 loan is i JE53.023 2s Gd, remaining at the Board's • disposal for future works. Auditor Ollivier, in reporting on the accounts, j characterised the Bystem of book-keeping ; adopted by Secretary Tennent as perfect, j and fit to be a model for all Boards. Re the accident to the Norman M'Leod, ' the captain of the vessel stated that no . blame was attributable to anyone, or to any ! defects in the appliances. A sudden shift of wind caused the accident, which might have occurred in any port in New Zealand.
