The Marsden Electorate,

ME MITCHELSON'B PROBABLE EETIREMENT. {Special to the "Stab."] AUCKLAND, Jan. G. As Mr Mitohelson has dignified the probability of hia retirement from the position of representative of the Marsden electorate, it has been decided to ask Mr Allen M'Don&ld, formoily member for the East ■Coast, to allow himself to be nominated. Mr M'Donald has indicated hie willingness to comply with the requisition, in the «vent of Mr Mitchelson resigning. The latter gentleman, however, has not definitely decided as to his action in the matter. Although he is wishing to retire from the political arena, some of Mr Mitehelson's auppoiters would rather he should finish this session, and save the •country the expense of an election.
