LOSS OF THE NERBUDDA.
Auckland, Dec. 16. Information has been received of the loss of the afaip Nerbudda, with all bands. She will be remembered as having visited this port about eight months ago, when she gained notoriety owing to a Court case in which Captain Cald *<-, master, and his Lascar crew, figured, and which was Bottled by some of the men being Bent to Calcutta by another Teasel. On arrival in London, Captain Calder left the vessel, and CaptAin James Taylor took charge. She had loaded coal at Cardiff for Bombay, and sailed from there in October, on the same day as the ill-fated Teviotdale, Bunny. Gloa Matteny, and the whole fleet of fine ships which almost, without exception, succumbed to a cyclone that met them that night. H aturally, in view of the gale and its results, much anxiety was felt for the Nerbud^a, and, subsequently, Mrs Taylor, the captain's wife, re--«eived intimation from the owners that wreckage had come ashore which left no doubt tnat the Bhip had gone down, with all bands. Captnin Taylor h*d with him. as carpenter ol the ship, his nephew, a lad named William King, who also Jived at Peterhead, with his widowed mother, his father having been also lost at Bea some years at? o. The reßt of the crew comprised 27 L- scars and 12 Europeans, these being mostly H'ntrliahmen. Tho Nerbudda was an iron vessel, p f 1600 tons net register, five years old, and insured.
