VOLUNTEER FIELD DAY.

The programme arranged for the Volunteer field day wa3 conscientiously carried out. The details were published in our issuo of Tuesday last. The muster numbered 348 of all ranks, Lieut-Colonel Lean in command. The field operations commenced at Chaney's, whence there was an advance on Kaiapoi, the town being defended by the Kaiapoi Bines and the Cadet and Ambulance Corps, numbering 172 in all. About two thousand people witnessed the display, throughout which not the slightest accident occurred.
