New Companies.

TjONDOV, Dec. 15. It is believed that the Hon E. Stanhope's despatches on the New Hebrides parleys disclose an impression that France is unwilling to give a ■written contract to evacuate those islands.
Mr Gladstone, in a letter to the Marquis of Ripon, states, in reference to the Irish difficulty, that neither threats of vengeance, or illegally combining to resist the law, cau be countenanced by the Government.
A Scotch Syndicate is completing the purchase of Parke's agricultural property, at Jamberoo (New South "Wales), for £20,000.
A Company is being formed, with a capital of .£IOO,OOO, for the purpose of purchasing Palk's nriue, ut Diamond Hills, Victoria.
LONDON, Dkc. 16. Mr George Murray has been awarded the Craven scholarship at the Oxford University. The Emperor of Germany has extended the projection of the New Guinea Company to the Solomon Islands.
