The Asylum Dispute.
I — * — I THB INSPECTOR-GENERAL'S TACTICS. [Pub, Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Not. 25. Dr Macgregor, Inspector - General of j Hospitals and Asylumß, has pone to Whan j to-day to make further investigation into ] the differences between Dr Cremoni and the staff. He states that he is determined to sustain the authority of the Medical Superintendent, and enforce discipline, whatever may be the consequences. He disapproves entirely of any warders holding keys giving access to the female sideof the Asylum; also, officers of the institution disposing of the produce of the institution to other officers, as being liable to grave abuse. As to ealuting tho Medical Superintendent, nothing more is required than is done in every asylum in the Colony. There ia reason to believe other membera of the staff contemplating withdrawing their resignations, so in all likelihood the present embroglio will be got over without any serious inconvenience. [Special to thk " Stab."] AUCKLAND, Not. 25. Dr M'Gregor has returned from the Thames. He visited the Asylum this morning. He states that many of the attendants have withdrawn their resignations, and that others will probably follow. He hopes to have everything satisfactorilysettled to-day. The general public uphold Dr Cremoni in the stand he has taken.
