Meteorological.

STORMY WEATHER. , The unsettled weather indicated during the past few days became sufficiently apparent this morning, when the telegraphed barometric readings showed a storm area to the south-east. At Hokitika the wind was blowing a gale from the south-west, but the prevailing wind was north-west, with the force of a gale at the Bluff. A tremendous sea is reported by a telegram from Invercargill to be running in Foveaux Strait. The steamer for Stewart Island was compelled to run back to the Bluff.
