Betting : 6 to 4 on Balderdash. Balderdash led three lengths, and was always the best in a good course, winding up with a kill. Betting : 8 to 4 on Bed of Stone. Contrary to general expectation, Bed of Stone led Arawa ten lengths, and only allowed him one point of merit in a long course. Arawa stood off in a very marked manner. Betting : 3tol on Graoe Darling. Grace drew out four lengths for first turn, Manuka getting in for a succession of wrenches. Grace then scored three. A splendid course ensued, and it looked as though the odds were going to be upset, but Grace dashing in for a splendid kill just Bayed the issue. JBetting : 2tol on Cardinal. Larrikin led just a length, and put in three wrenches before Cardinal found an opening. The black then went to work in a far more masterly manner than he has ever exhibited in public before, and had won by a lump when puss escaped. Betting : 3t02 on Pat. Pat led four clear lengths, and placed the bitch. He then dashed in and killed cleverly. Betting : 6t04 on Princess Charlotte. Princess led four lengths, and scored three. Betting : 2tol on Salamander. Rob Roy led three lengths amidst a perfect uproar on the stand. Last year's runner-up was unable to raise a gallop, and was fifty or sixty yards in the rear by the time Rob Roy had wrenched a strong hare to cover. Betting : 6t04 on Braw Lass. Braw Lass was threo lengths in advanoe for the turn, and was always the best in a good course. Betting : 6 to 4 on Nassau. Pawa drew away two lengths for the first turn, and scored second and third. She then slewed out very wide, and gave Nassau a good opening, which he made good use of, and working very closely he ran up a good score before the bitch got in again. A good give and take course ensued, the flag going up for Pawa. Betting : 2tol on Ringwood. Bordeaux led up till nearing the hare, when Ringwood dashed by for the turn. The veteran was of no assistance to last year's winner, who worked beautifully — puss escaping. Betting : 6t04 on Highwayman. Highwayman was quickest out of the slips, but Deception gradually forged past and was two lengths ahead for the first turn. She scored three beautiful wrenches and coming well round off the dog, she pursued to cover, winning well. Betting : 3tel on Waitangi. Waitangi led three lengths, turned, wrenched three times, and killed cleverly. Betting : 6t04 on Lucifer. Lucifei led two lengths, and keeping well on the tail of puss, turned her twice in a small circle, and tho black killed off his turn. Betting : 2 to 1 on Killulta. After an undecided, Cliquot led Killulta three lengths, but standing off a bit she enabled the pup to score all the strong points, and kmt. Betting : 3 to 2 on Belgravia. Belgravia led half-a-dozen lengths, and only allowed the dog to score once when near the escapes. Betting : 10 to 4 on Miss Taylor.
