Addington Saleyards.

THIS DAT. [Special to thb " Stab/ j At the Mstbopolitax Yards to-day, the supply of cattle waa only moderate. Fat sheep, however, oama to hand in considerable numbers. Tke attendance was not large. Cattlb.— But a limited supply of beef was <m offer, and the quality consisted almost entirely of medium and inferior sorts. The demand, in consequence, showed a great improvement, and for anything like good quality there was a substantial increase on late values, from 15s to 25s per head more being obtained for most lines. Owing to the indifferent quality and the light weight of most of tbe bt cattle, it is hardly possible to give a correc quotations per 1001 b. In store cattle, not much business ha-i been done, but a small number being yarded. Little or no difference in late rates can benoted. Shbbp.— A numerous entry of fat sheep was -penned. The proportion of first-class lines of cross-bred wethers was, however, very small, the major portion of the supply consisting of ewes. The demand, except for the best lots, waa hardly so good, bnt still no alteration in prioes can be recorded, and on the whole they were fairly well maintained. Prime lota of cross-breds sold at from 10s to 12s 6d ; second-rate and medium, at from 7s to 9s. The quotation per lb for mutton remains unaltered. Of store sheep only a few lots, mostly cuJQs, were yarded. The few sales made at auction were not sufficient to show that any alteration had taken place in this market. Pias.— The supply was not nearly so large as on several occasions lately. A decidedly improved demand waa|3hown, especially for good bacon pigs, and farmers will hear with satisfaction that an unmistakable advance in values can be recorded. JBaoon pigs sold at from 25s to 41s. The email aorta sold hardly so well as the larger.
