The Australian mails from Melbourne, May 4, were delivered in London to-day, via Brindiai. The third series of Colonial wool auctions opened to-day before a large attendance of Home and foreign buyers. The catalogue comprised 12,000 bales, for which g«od competition was manifested, chiefly on foreign account. At the close oi the sales, scoured wooU ruled at 3d, greasy folly 2d, and cross-breds Id per lb higher than at the close of previous Auctions. The present series of sales close on July 29.
