Freezing and best butchers' lines realised last week's rates; but secondary mutton was a shade lower. Cross-bred wethers s?ld at 10b, op toa grand Tno at ISs 9d; and the only prima lot of merino wethers—from tir John Hall's station, a really tip-top lot—brought 10s and 10s 3d. shewing that for the best class of merino mutton, tie best butchers wfll still give a good price. Fat lambs eold at 3s to 3a lOd. Store sheep still met with no demand, and it is a pity that farmers suU continuo to (-end supplies to tho market, only to remove them unsold at the close of the day, after incurring experj,e and depreciation in value. Cattle.—There was only a moderate supply of fat cattle as regards both qiality and quantity, and as the trade did not appear eager to bay, it was a slow sale, and prices were decv2edly weaker; 16s to 19a per lOolb mny be quoted. Tat steers sold at £6 to £8, and some extra prime u-p to £10 10s; heifers, £5 to £7. Store cattle are s'rill in little
