Porter and Co'a branch ironmongery store in Symondß street was broken open, and a safe containing JEII in cash, besides valuable books and papera, was carried off without any pereon hearing a sound or any mark being left on the floor. It now appears that the burglara, having broken into the store, earned the safe bodily into a cab, which Tra3 waiting outside, and drove off to a spot near the lunatic asylum, where the safe was broken open, with tools previously stolen from Munro's blacksmith's shop.
