Societies, Clubs, &c.

The usual fortnightly meeting of the U.A.O.D. Mistletoe Lodge No. 96, was held in the Druids' Hall. Worcester street, last evening, Arch Druid Bro Hill presiding. Important business having been transacted, Bro Darlow, D.P., in feeling terms, expressed his sorrow at having to sever his connection with the Lodge by resigning office as District President. Bro J. Milne, W.S., in an appropriate speech, moved a hearty vote of thanks to the retiring D.P. JBro E. J. Arlow, M.S., in seconding the motion, referred to the loss sustained by the Order owing to Bro. Darlow's resignation, and the high esteem he was held in by the Mistletoe Lodge for his upright and consistent conduct as District President. The vote was passed by acclamation. Bro Darlow replied, and said he would still look back with pleasure on the many happy associations connected with

the Lodge. The Lodge was then closed in : due form by the Arch Druid. j On Tuesday night, a social gathering of Good Templars was held at the Templar : Hall, Rangiora, +o celebrate the anniversary ! of the Good Intent Lodge, 1.0. G.T. About ( forty visitors were present from the Pride of Enightßtown, Kaiapoi, Ashley, and Sef ton Lodges, and a most pleasant evening was | spent, recitations, readings, songs, and ad- ! dresses being given by several of the members.
