THE TAUPO.
On May 6 the Union Company's steamship Taupo 'ttos taken into dock for sighting. After the vessel had been safely placed in dock by Messrs Sims and Brown, and the water had been pumped out, Mr Jobeon, the Government Inspector of Steamers, Mr W. Lodder, fcnrveyor to Lloyd, with Captain Clayton, made a survey of the vessel. They found that the only damage done to the ateamer was the slightly bulging of two of the plates on the port side, and slightly abaft the foremast. The plates are to be removed and straightened at Dunedin. The Bteamer came out of dock again on May 7, Ud is to proceed on to Dunediu.— N.Z. Herald.
