COURSING.
PLUMPTON PARK MAY MEETING. A. fair number of coursers assembled at the Empire Hotel laat evening to witness the draw for the above Club's May Cup and St Leger Stakes. The entries, probably owing to the close proximity of the Waterloo Cup, were not as numerous as anticipated, thirteen being nominated for the May Cup and eleven for the Leger. Still, a very fair class of dogs is represented, and interesting contests are looked forward to. The draw resulted as follows : — THE MAT CUP. for an unlimited number of allaged dogs, at £3 10s each. There was no straight out betting, but considerable speculation took place in doubles. The following are the quotations : — 95 to 3 agst Waitangi and Quintana (tk) 25 — 3 — Symphony and Quintana (tk). 25 — 3 — Waitangi and Champagne (tk). 25 — 3 — Waitangi and Nassau (tk). 25 — 3 — Anything coupled with Waitangi or Symphony, 25 — 3 — Any other way. The first brace will be in the slips at 10 sharp on Thursday morning. It is intended to run the stakes off in one day.
