[from our special correspondent.] TIMARU, May 6. The Bicycle Eace fell through, only Outten putting in an appearance. Quarter-mile Hurdle Handicap. S. Smithson, 25yds 1 G. Cole, 20yds 2 A. Delamaiu, 15yds 3 P. Ford (scratch), Hamilton (syds), Craig (10yds), and ue Cren (20yds), aldo ran. Smithson was never headed, winning by three yards. Ford fell at the second hurdle. Time— lmin 11? sec. One Mile Walking Handicap. E. A. Pigeon, scratch 1 F. W. Ford (80yds), and A. Johnston (150 yds) also' started. Johnstone retired at the quarter-ir.ile and Pord at the half-mile. Pigeon walked well throughout, covering a mile in 7min 40sec. 150 yds Handicap. J. F. Le Cren; 9yds 1 C. H. Hamilton, scratch ... 2 G. Jones (3yds), H. Reeves (4yda), Johnstono (syds), Grierson (6yds), Smithson and F. Jones (7yds), and F. Ford (By<iß) also ran. Le Cren, the limit man, wag never headed throughout, winning by a jard from Hamilton. Time — 15-isec. Two Mile Handicap. Herbert LeCren, 50yds ... 1 E. M'Kay, 40yds 2 D. Wood, scratch 3 C. H. Hamilton and Grierson (scratch), Pigeon (80yds), Henry Le Cren (90yds), G. Cole (100 yds), Jones (120 yds), F. Ford and E. Foster (150 yds) also started. Jones cut out the running for the first half mile, followed, six lengths away, by the brothers Le Cren and M'Kay, who were a similar distance ahead of Cole, and j Pigeon and Jones shortly afterwards retired, and Mackay cut out the work, with Herbert Le Cren his nearest attendant. No alteration took place until half a mile from home, when Wood made a spurt and ran into third place. Two hundred yards from the tape Le Cren spurted, and having M'Kay in distress, won a good race by six yards, Wood a good third and Grierson fourth. Time — lOmin 35*300. Hurry Scurry, 120 yds. G.T.Wood 1 Black, Smithson, Hart, DeLamam, and Eaymond also started. Wood won easily. Time — 13isec. Three Mile Bicycle Race. F. A. Cutten (scr) ' 1 Herbert Le Cren (GOOyds) ... 2 Henry Le Cren (440 yds) ... 3 Cutten gradually wore his opponents down, and taking the lead a quarter of a quarter of a mile from home, won easily. Tiua« — I2min 9sec. Patting 161 b Weight. E. S. Eutherford, 30ft lOin ... 1 E. S. Black 3 J. F. Grierson 3 Strangers' Race, 100 yards. F. Fish 1 H. Bristol ..' 2 Perry, Archer, Stephenß. and Cotter also ran. Fish won, after an exciting race, by nine inches. Time — 11 £ sec. Consolation Race, 100 yards. G.E.Jones 1 A. H. Johnstone 2 Reeves and Stephenson also ran. Jones won on the post by half a foot, Reeves a close third.
