NEW ZEALAND PERNS AND LIZARDS. WELLINGTON, April 27. The Premier left for Nelson this evening. Mr Ballance is expected to return from the North on Friday. The volunteers who had boon attending the Wanganui encampment returned this afternoon, and expresEed themselves satisfied with the camp arrangements. The ferns sent Homo from New Zealand
for the Indian and Colonial Exhibition, ' arrived there in gooi condition. I Communications are passing between the i Home and Colonial Governments on the question of establishing a parcels-post with : the Mother Country. j The tutara lizards taken Home by Dr . von Haast arrived in healthy condition. I Six of the twenty have been sent to the King of Belgium, the remainder being placed in the Zoological Gardens. MAJOR ATKINSON. DUNEDIN, April 27. Information has been recoived that owing to the illness of hia wife Major Atkinson is unable to visit Dunedin to deliver an address. A numerously signed requisition had been sent to him. [FROM A.
