An auction sale of furniture, clothing, and sundries will be held at Lyttelton tomorrow by Messrs H. B. Sorensen and Co. A meeting in connection with the West Coast Railway League will be held in the Knightatown Beading Boom, this evening, Mr J. Crowley, it will be seen by advertisement, has placed himself in the hands of a deputation of Sydenham electors who waited upon him. Mr J. L. Scott advertises a brief address to the Sydenham electors, in which he renews the offer of his services as their representative. He purposes to address them at an early date. A lecture in connection with St Paul's Literary Association will be given by the Bey J. Blmslie, on "The Influence of Darwinism on the Beligiouß Thought of the Present Age," to-morrow night. Messrs J. P. Jameson, J. Anderson, and G. Hart sat at the Provincial Council Chamber to-day, as a Board of Eeviewere, to hear objections to the Property tax valuation for the Borough of Lyttelton. Mr J. P. Jones, the Assessor, appeared in support of the valuation. A few objections had been lodged, but no one appeared in support of them, and the valuations were sustained, the reviewers remarking that the assessment aeemed to have been made in a satisfactory manner.
