EAST CHRISTCHURCH FOOTBALL CLUB.

The fifth annual general meeting of this Club was held at the Commercial Hotel last evening; Mr F. Fuller in the chair. There was a good attendance of members. The minutes of the last meeting having been confirmed, the Hon Secretary (Mr T. L. Smith) read the Committee's report (which has already appeared in these columns) and balance-sheet, which were considered most satisfactory. The election of officers was then proceeded -with, and resulted aa follows : — President, Mr W. H. Wynn-Williams ; Hon Secretary, Mr T. L. Smith; Hon Treasurer, Mr F. D. Kesteven ; Committee, Messrs W. G. Ataek, G. H. Mason, G. F. Wright, H. D. Hinge, and K.J.Wilson; delegates to Rugby Union, Messrs T. L. Smith, W. G. Atack, and F. D. Kesteven. The election of the Captain and ViceCaptain was left to a general meeting to be held at a future date. The Hon Secretary stated that Lancaster Park had been obtained on the same terms as last year, and that practice could be commenced at once. The following new members were elected : — Mes3rs F. Plunket, C. Harden, Scailes, S. Maurice, Gosnell, A. Craddock, i J. L. Stewart, C. Keed, D. Dunlop, A. L. Haylock, J. Taiaroa, G. M. Morley, and j A. H. Thomas. I A letter was read from Mr W. H. Atack, who offered a very handsome cup for com- ; petition, under the following conditions : — ' " The cup is to be held annually by the member of the first fifteen, playing among the forwards, who scores most tries in any ! recognised inter-club match ; but it Bhall not be awarded if less than two tries are gained. In case of a tie, the Cup is to be ! given to the candidate who, by ballot of the ! first fifteen, shall be deemed fittest to hold I it. If one man secure the Cup twice ruaning, it shall become his own property." Other trophies were also offered by Mr T. L. Smith, for back players of the first fifteen ; by Mr F. Fuller, for the most unselfish plajer in the first fifteen ; by M-essra I F. D. K<JBteven and W. G. Atack, for most points scored by members of the second and third fifteens respectively. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the above gentlemen for their donations. Itiwas decided to play the opening game on March 27, if the ground were not engaged ; and a vote of thanks to last yeac's officers, and also to the chair, brought the meeting to a close. ' Members are again reminded that tbe annual meeting of the Me ri vale Football Club will be beld this ( Wednesday) evening, at the Central Hotel, at 7.30.
