[Pbb Press Association.] ' DUNEDIN. DUNEDIN, Jan. 5. Judge Williams' charge wa3 brief, and merely referred to the indictments for j embracery and murder. Frederick Henry Kessler pleaded guilty to three charges of j embezzling the funds of the Victorian Insurance Company. Sentence was deferred. It was stated that his defalcations amounted to J8550. John Martin, for larceny, was sentenced to one month's imprisonment. The Grand Jury threw out the bill against John Stead for an unnatural offence.
WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON, Jan. 5. At the Supreme Court this morning the criminal calendar opened before Judge Eichmond.
