Enquiry into the Loss of the Brigantine Helena.

(Teb Pbess Association.] NELSON, Jult 13. The enquiry as to the wreck of the brigantine Helena was concluded this evening, when the judgment of the Court, which was composed of Mi O. Curtis, E.M., and Captains Webb, Bowen And Palmer, waa delivered. The Court found that the loss of the vessel was caused by a serious error of judgment on the part of the captain, by shaping his course too far to the southward, and that he is further to blame for not having taken more active steps to save his vessel after the accident occurred. Captain Henry Bowden's certificate was suspended for three months, and he wa3 ordered to pay tho costs of the enquiry. The captain, in his evidence, said he did not know the vessel was insured till he arrived in Nelson. The ship was owned by The Don Trading Company, of Tasmania, and was insured for £1250.
