WRECK OF THE ANNABEL CAPTAIN EXONERATED.
TE KOOTI'S AMUSEMENTS. AUCKLAND, Jan. 28. The Court of Enquiry into the wreck of the Annabel at Kaipara Heads delivered ' judgment to-day. It decided that, according to the evidence adduced, there was no negligence or want of caution disclosed on the part of Captain M'Donald, and the Court completely exonerated him from blame, and could make no order for costs. Te Kooti and some of his followers have come into Te Awamutu to attend the races to-morrow. Large numbers of Natives are there, awaiting the arrival of the Native Minister. A deputation from Rotorua township leaseholders interviewed the Native Minister, but no satisfactory issue was arrived at. He said he could do nothing to release them, or go behind the Act of Assembly, or the judgment of the Supreme Court.
