GREYMOUTH, Jan. 28. One effect of yesterday's flood was to sweep away the "wreck oi the Star of the South, which encroached Boriously upon the fairway of the entrance to the river. At twelve last night she disappeared, breaking a rope and several hempen hawsera. According to all appearances she has been swept out to sea clear of the channel, oh there was a large volume of water going down. No doubt soundings will be taken to-day to ascertain whether the wreck still blocks the channel. She was lying intact last evening when tho flood was at its height. When she broke away ahe caused the shifting of a great deal of stonework.
