NEW PLYMOUTH, Jan. 27. A fire broke out in the cost sclioolhouse, at one o'clock tins morning, and it, witti the teacher's residence, was totally destroyed. The school has not been in use, and the teacher's residence was empty, as the State Bchool master had removed to nnotbor house a fortnight ago. The origin of tho fire is therefore supposed to be the work o£ an incendiary, The building was not insured.

BLENHEIM, Jan. 27. A number of Catholics, subscribers/ to the Jllarlborough Express, have boycotted it in consequence of remarks made during the recent Eivers Board election, and hold by them to oppose their educational claims. It is believed that this is the first case of Catholic boycotting in tho Colony.
