MAIL NOTICES.

Mails clobo for the following places as under (subject to the neceseory alterations) :— Saturday, Don. 20. For Xorthern ports, and East and West Coasts of South America, United Kingdom and Continent of Europe, &c, per Hawea (to connect with, contract steamer Kaikoura in Wellington), as follows : — Ordinary letters, at C.30 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 7 p.m. ; books and newspapers, at 6.30 p.m. ; money orders, at 3 p.m. j registered letters, at 5 p.m. ; guard's van, 8.15 p.m. tram. This mail will bo due in London on Feb. 1, 1885. Monday, Dec. 22. ForlAustralian Colonies, per Crown of Arragon, at 1.45 p.m., late fee.letters, at 2 p.m. ; guard"s van, 2.40 p.m. tniin. For Kaikoura, per Wakatu, at 3.20 p.m. ; late fee letters, nt 3.30 p.m. ; guard's van, 4 p.m. train. For Noithern Ports, per Wanaka, at 3.20 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 3.30 p.m. ; guard's van, 4 p.m. train.

' Notice.— On Christinas Day the Post Office will j be closed in all its branches. On Friday, Dec. 20 (Boxing Day) the Post Office will open from 9 till 10 a.m. only, nor will any mails be despatched after 10 a.ni. One complete delivery by letter carriers, commencing at 8 a.m., will bo made on Boxiug Day. On the evening of Doc. 24 a dolivory of lotters generally distributed by letter carriers will bo made at the counter from 9 till 10 p.m. Mails usually despatched on Thursday will close on Wednesday evening, Dec. 24, at 8 p.m.
