The distribution of prizes at tho close of thia school's second year took place yesterday afternoon, in the presence of a few friends ef the pupils. The Eev Walter Harper, incumbent of the parish, presided, and the Yen Archdeacon Harris presented the prizes. Tho following is the prize list : — Class V. — Caroline Bradwell, 1 ; Emily Brien and Bessie Wilson, equal, 2. Class IV. — Sarah Brien and Maud Banks, equal, 1; Mary Hockley, 2. Lower Division Jemima Walker, 1. Class 111. — Edith Hirtzel, 1 ; Matilda Simpson, 2 ; Eliza Stewart 3. Clas3 II. — Harry Shaw, 1 ; Freddy Strong, 2 ; Fred Banks, 3. Lower Division : Caroline Amesbury, 1 ; Edith Boakes, 2. Class I. — Arthur Wickes and May Smith, equal, 1 ; Annie Lucas, 2 ; Bertie Strong and Ella Shaw, equal, 3. Infant Class. — Eosie Aulsebrook, 1 (religious knowledge) ; Albert Coombs, 2 ; Mary Eew, 3 ; Louisa Barnett, 4 ; Eachel Barnett, 5 ; Mary Stewart, 6 (regular attendance). Extra prize. — Fred Coombs, (general improvement). Sewing prizes. — Class IV. : Alice Sparks ; Class 111. : Jessie Cameron ; Class II. : Lillie Swanston ; Class I. : Harriet Tait. ST JOSEPH'S, PAPANUI. During the week the prizes at this school were distributed by the Eev' Father Ginaty, who, in his remarks on the occasion, paid a tribute of praise to the teacher, Miss Kealy, for her great efforts for years, never missing a day y going from" Christchurch to the school also to Mrs Harper for herjj attention to the Sunday School. The following is the prize list : — Good conduct — Elizabeth Somerville and Emily M'Donough, equal. Politeness — Joseph Blumsky and Margaret Shannon. Regular attendance — Elizabeth Adams. Catechism — Class 1, David Quaid ; class 2, Thomas Daley ; class 3, Agnes Coleman ; class 4, Bridget Duggan. Writing — Elizabeth Somerville, 1 ; Mary Duggan, 2. Reading and spelling — Class 1, Martha Daley ; class 2, Christopher Flanagan ; class 3, Elizabeth Adams ; class 4, Thomas Shannon ; class 5, Charles Wilson. Irish and English history — Class 1, Martha Daley; class 2, Christopher Flanagan.
