♦ - ! [Special to the " Star.] , | WELLINGTON, Dec. 20. ! Major Atkinson's friends here have allowed their zeal to get ahe;id of their discretion. They advertised him as a candidate for the Insurance Board without his consent, and the Major has now withdrawn the advertisement. He was not nominated to-day as a candidate.
