Mails close for tho following plnees as under (subject to tho necessary alterations) .— Sntnrday, Dec. 20. For Chatham Islands por Island Lily, at 11.39 a.m.; late fee letters, at 11.40 a.m.; guard's van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Kaikoura, per AVakatn, nt 3.-.-0 p.m. ; late fee letters, nt :5.00 p.m. ; guard's van, 4 p.ui. train. For Northern ports; and Enst and AVest Const* of South America, United Kingdom nnd Continent of Em-ope, &c, per Hawea (to connect with ooutract steamer Kaikoura in Wellington), as follows :— Ordinary letters, at 0.30 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 7 p.m. ; books and newspapers, at 6.30 p.m. ; money orders, at 3 p.m. ; registered letters, at 5 p.m. ; guard's van, 8.15 p.m. tram. This mail will bo due in Loudon on Feb. 1, 1885. Noticb.— On Christinas Day the Post OPice wiU te clesod iv nil its branches. On Friduy, Dec. 2< - (Boxing Day) the Post Offico will open from 9 till 10 a.m. only, nor will nny mails l>e despatched after 10 a.nl. Ouo complete delivery by letter carriers, coniuienciug at 8 a.m., will be made OB Boxing Day. On the evening of Dec. 2t a deUvery of letters generally distributed by letter carriers will be made at tbe counter from 9 till 10 p.m. Mails usually despatched ou Thursday will clos* ; on AVednesday evening, Dec. 24, at 8 p.m.
