The Rangiora Accident.
, THE FUNERALS. The funerals of the victims of the late accident at Rangiora took place yesterday afternoon, and never before has such a sorrowful scene been witnessed in the place. All the business premises were closed during the afternoon, and nearly the whole of the inhabitants of the town and surrounding district assembled to pay a last tribute to the memory of the dead. The remains were interred in the Presbyterian Cemetery, the funerals taking place at different hours. The Revs J. Elmslie, R. M'Gregor, R. Tout, and J. A. Dawson took part in the services, which were of a most impressive nature. The funeral service of the Sons and Daughters of Temperance was also read over the grave of David Keir, he having been a member of that Order. Funeral sermons are to be preached at the Rangiora Presbyterian Church on Sunday next — ih the morning by the Rev J. Elmslie, and in the evening by the Rev J. A. Dawson. - N
