" Diseased Nature oftentimes breaks forth, is strange eruptions."— Act m., Scene 1. TO THE PUBLIC. SOME patients suffering from nerrons affections are afraid, from sheer- bashfnlsess and modesty, to personally consult a medical man — other patients hav<j not the self-possession and coolness when in the consulting room, to accurately describe their syinp'oins— their habits of life, aud the nature of the il:se:ise they suffer from. Let such persons (he or she) sit quietiy down in the privacy of tiioir own apartments, and with calm niiutls describe' clearly each symptom of their case ; a clear statement thus written, and laid before me, is far preferable in xekvous diseases to a personal consultation. Where, however, a disease is of a peculiar aud exceptional character, a personal consultation may become necessary ; butmy success in correspondence is so groat, that of the thousands upon thousands whom I have treated by letter during the last 32 years, not a single mistake has ever occurred, not a case has ever been made public— in fact, the very simplicity of my system ot correspondences prevents publicity. At the same time medicines ar* sent to my patients in such a form as to defy detection. How many thousands have I not brought joy tof How many have been enabled to enter into th© marriage state through consulting me? How many after marriage have privately consulted me aud been blessed, aud their married lira* made fruitful nud happy ? How many wasted ruined youths of both sexeahavcalso been restored to health, and thanked theirinanhood, for having consulted me by letter ? How many questions arise where the family physician is "unable to unravel the case, and where often this patient lingers on, not daring to tell his family medical adviser the nature of his complaint, until consumption, wastiug, or mental diseases set in, and the suflerer gets beyond the cnrable stage, and is left a hopeless wreck ? A letter written in the privacy of the room ana dropped in the post-box reaches me quietly ; the answer is retu? ued as quietly and unostentatiously, and the patient, without stepping from his chamber, except to post his letter, is by retnrn of post put m full possession of the nature of his case. His hopes are raised, his doubts removed, and he is comparatively a now man ; in fact, in many cases, a new being altogether. The only addition to the ordinary written letter tho age, occupation, habits, and symptoms nothing more. The usual consultation fee of £1 (onepouna) must be enclosed, otherwise no answer will bo- re- • turned. There are thousands of cases in daily life where a consultation with oncat a distance, will remove by a single letter a groat fear, a great care, and it onen solves what appears as an impenetrable mystery. Many a sad heart has been made joy ful on receipt ot an explanatory letter from me. To those who nre about to marry, I would say, consult me before doing so, and thus .prevent many aftor troubles, aud remove many unuecessiury fears. and prejudices ; to those more espe aully who haT&. suffered in early years from diseaw, or who have yielded to their iwssions, to these 1 say at once,. consult with me, donot tarry, delays aredangerons, and as an expert, niy time may not be always at your service, you can, by simply enclosing one. iiouud have the benefit of my experience in tne* samo innnner as if I lived in your own town, and; with the additional advantage of thorough prwacT-* —Yours truly,.
