The Macandrew-Mont-gomery Party.
I have just heard for certain that tlit Hon Randall Johnston has refused to join the new Ministry. As 1 indicated in the former message, the followers of Me^rs Montgomery and Macandrew have taken offence. They like neither Sir George Grey on the one hand, who has tripped them up so often, nor Major Atkinson on the other, with ■whom they haveso often fought. Their place is with the new Ministry; but they haw too much devotion to their chiefs to allow them to be left out. They insisted, when the last Stout- Yogel combination was being formed, in putting both into the Ministry. Now they insist upon one seat. As Mr Macandrow insists on giving up to Mr Montgomery the party wiU try and get the seat for the Litter. That is aa far as I can learn of the present attitude of the Montgomery-Macandrfc-*- s«.m:tion. Mr Tole, I hear, on what seorus go<>«Jl authority, lias just received the invitation to join the Ministry. It is beginning to Ixj whispered that Mr Cadman will be the second Auckland member.
