[Special to Press Association.] LONDON, August 11. Information from the Soudan states that the rebels have captured Galabet. France threatens to seize Amoy unless the indemnity is paid. Sir Stafford Northcote has asked Mr Gladstone to introduce the Federation Enabling Bill in the autumn. The Cape Colony Government has annexed the Walvisch Bay district.
[Reuteb's Telegrams.] ALBANY, August 11. The P. and 0. steamship Mirzapore, with the Brindisi mails dated London, July 11, arrived in King George's Sound yesterday afternoon.
[Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, August 11. Young Waymouth, who fell over the cliffs at George's Bay, bids fair to recover. The lad Gibson, victim of the Te Awamutu shooting accident, has died of his injuries. The Mayor intends moving in the City Council for the erection of a building euitable for a small-pox hospital. The difficulty appears to be a suitable site.
WELLINGTON, August 11. The Mayor is improving in health. Detective M'Grath has left for Australia to bring the absconding publican Poppens to Wellington.
