[Per Press Association.] WANGANUI, July 8.. A fire occurred to-night in a fourroomed cottage in Dublin street, the property of Mr Sorenson, and occupied by a man named Breen, a blacksmith. The fire was confined to the kitchen and parlour, and was speedily got under. The building was insured in the London and Lancashire for ,£l5O, and the furniture for .£72 in the Fire Insurance Association. DUNEDIN, July 8. A four-roomed house at Pine Hill, owned and occupied by William Johnston, carpenter, was burned down this afternoon. The house was insured for .£250 and the furniture for .£SO in the South British. A fire broke out this evening in a small cottage which had been on fire on Saturday evening. This time it was completely destroyed. The cottage was occupied by a woman of ill repute, and was insured in the New Zealand for ,£l5O. The police regard the matter with suspicion. On Sunday afternoon two sets of stacks owned by Mr Studholme at Willow Bridge, j which were some distanse apart, were fired simultaneously. One set was saved by people who saw the fire, but the other, containing 800 bushels of splendid wheat, was destroyed. The grain was uninsured. Mr Studholme's manager suspects incendiarism, but the police do not.
