A movement is on loot to get Sir Julius Togel to stand for Chriatchurch North. Mr John Holmes has declared his intention to contest Christchurch South against all comers. At the Lyttelton E.M. Court yesterday, 15G names of persons objected to were struck off the roll of electors. The first of the candidates for Cheviot will address the electors this day week in the Auiberley Town Hall. The candidate, Mr Adams, iE a local man, and during the past five years has resided in or about Amberley, and has pursued many and various avocations too numerous to mention in these columns. He is looked upon a 8 the "Northern Jolly." and some fun is anticipated when he makes his tebut. Mr A. Saunders was in Amberley yesterday making preparations for the coming campaign. Mr W. Gibson, of Kaikoura, ia another probable candidate, so that there is not likely to be a walk-over for the Cheviot seat. [Per Press Association^ AUCKLAND, June 20. Canvassing, is actively going on in the various electorates. It is understood that every seat will be contested. In Newton district alone 500 have been placed on the roll in the last few days. NAPIER, Junk 20. Captain Russell contests the Hawke's Bay seat with Mr Sutton. Mr Tanner will fight "Waipawa against Mr Smith. Mr Ormond is the only candidate yet announced for Napier, but it is expected Mr Sheehan or Mr Buchanan will contest the seat with him. WELLINGTON, June 20. Mr J.
