ALLEGED FRAUDULENT BANKRUPTCY.
* [Per Puess Association.] AUCKLAND, June 9. The following resolutions were carried at the meeting of Moore and Townsend's creditors : — " That it be an instruction to the Official Assignee to pay no legal charges in connection with the bankruptcy to the firm of Hughes and George, solicitors to the bankrupts, Moore and Townsend; that a legal opinion be taken by the Official Assignee as to whether persons who had any goods subsequent to, say April 15, 1884, from Moore and Townsend, should not be sued on their several accounts, as it is abundantly clear that the greater portion of the chattels and contras set forth in their books are the property of Moore and Townsend's creditors ; that, in the opinion of this meeting, the bankrupts should be prosecuted for fraudulent banki-uptcy ; that the Official Assignee be requested to get a detailed statement sworn to by Moore senr. and Plumby (Townsend's father-in-law) of all advances, repayments, or refunds from the date of Moore and Townsend's entering into partnership up to the date of filing, as well as a statement duly sworn to by Mrs Townsend as to all properties whatever accrued or made over for her own separate use subsequent to her marriage."
