Supreme Court Sittings.

THE ORMONDVILLE TRAGEDY. [Per Peebs Association.J NAPIER, June 10. The following cases have been dealt with at the Supreme Court: — Robert Collins, horse stealing ; a verdict of " Not guilty " was returned. John Burbeck, larceny from an hotel ; sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment. This morning R. H. Edwards, charged with murdering his wife and four children at Orinondville, was put on his trial. On the question of guilty or not guilty being asked by the Registrar, the prisoner remained silent for about a minute, during which the crowds of spectators held their breath. The Registrar again put the question, and prisoner replied, " Guilty." Then there was another death-like silence, which was broken by the prisoner adding, " Guilty ; but I was not in my right mind/ This was taken as a plea of not guilty. The trial will last all day, but no new facts are likely to be brought to light. ■
