The Takapuna Enquiry.

[Per Press Association.] DUNEDIN, Mat 1. The Takapuna enquiry ended to-day, but judgment will not be given till to-morrow. The evidence having been concluded, the Court said : — "At this stage of the enquiry, we have to say that the parties inculpated may offer any defence they may desire to offer ; that we find the damage was done to the vessel in foul ground off the coast to the south-east of Cape Egmont ; that it was caused by careless navigation through the default of Captain Jones, and want of experience on the part of Mr Sommer, the second mate." No evidence was called, but counsel gave addresses.
