THE CHINESE GAMBLERS.
DUNEDIN, Mat 2. Tn the cases of four Chinese charged with gambling at Tapanui, one was lined £5 ss, one £2 2s, and two others .£1 each. The Bench declined to forfeit the gambling instruments. The Union Company have been obliged to refuse a number of passengers for the Y-Tairarapa's trip. They contemplate making a second trip on her return if sufficient inducement offers.
