Tho following have been selected to practice for the Interprovinoial match : — Austin, Oooke, Oollinsoo, Davenport, Dixon, Frith, Fleming, Fitzgerald, Harris, Horae, Henderson, Mallard, M'Neil, M'Lennsn, Battray, Boee, Bketok, and Sontag. At the inquest to-day on the lad Street the evidence showed that young Hawk«s had received from his father a bag containing the wages of the men at the mine, of whioh Mr Hawkes, senr., is manager. The acoidsnt occurred in Mr Hawkei' hut, in whioh the boya were. Toung Hawkes eaid, " Suppose anyone were to come through tho window after the money," and he pointed the gun at the window. One of the boy s,named Baron, told him to take care, or there might be an acoident, and Hawkes then lowered the gun. As he was lowering the trigger his finger slipped, and the gun went off, killing deceased. Hawkes was accustomed to a rifle, having been drilled at school, and he was acouetomed to shooting with a gun. Hawkei and Street were cousins. A verdict of " Aooidental Death*" was returned. The jury added a rider, to the effect that parents should be oareful not to allow young boys out with firearms. The Sooiety of Carpenters and Joiners | have resolved to request th« Bxeeutive Council of the English Society in Manchester

to use every means in their power to prevent any more members of the Society coming to the Colony, owing to the depressed state of the building trade.
