LATEST PARTICULARS.
The steamers- Stella- and M'Gregor have returned from the stranded Triumph at Tiritiri. They- report that the jutting point of the reef is piercing through the bottom of the vessel just at? the foremast,, and* ahe ho swinging on the rook with the forehold lull of water. . The after compartment i» uninjured, as she is afloat aft. The railway material is being, shifted from the forehold to lighten her forward and deepen her astern, and the oargo is being lightered' aa speedily aB possible.. Fears are entertained that ehe will not be got off- Fortunately, the weather remaina fine.. The steamers Bose Casey and Argyle,, and the sohooners Vixen and Golden Isle leave for the island to lighter oargo. Ihe second mate of the Triumph was only shipped yesterday. Captain Brotherjbon. seems completely dazed by* his misfortune. He is reported to have said that af fer discharging the pilot o_3' Bangitoto Beef, he stood down towards Tiritiri lighthouse to get a,, good offing, and then lay his oourse for Cape Oolville. He was some five miles out of the usual oourse, and the vessel is lying within some three hundred yards of the lighthouse. At low water people can walk from tbe Triumph on to the reef and goashore. .
