Kaiapoi presented a very lively appearance yeiterday, tod the " free and independents " were " about " at an early hour. Vehioles of every description were utilited in bringing up the voters ; posters, squibs and cartoons were freely dispensed ; and, amid considerable excitement, at 6 p.m. Mr Sutherland, Beturn-ing-Offioor, announced the result of the poll to be as follows : — Moore 112 Gallagher 71 He deolared Mr Moore to be duly eleoted Mayor for the Borough of Kaiapoi for the ensuing twelve months.
