OUTSPOKEN.
We should not be over- zealous in keeping boys " good "at church or chapel. A youDgster, seated between his ma and nurse at chapel last Sunday, was alternately reminded by a slight touoh when he was fidgetty. The child stood this for some time, but his patience was exhausted at last. Turning to bis chief tormentor, and then to the other, he called out, in tones audible over several pews, "What are you pushing at? I'm not a hassook ! " This boy, it is almost needless to say, is the Bon of a minister. He is the same hopeful who agreed with these of the oongregation who thought his pa was over-liberal in the length of his discourses. One time, when his father had finished his "thirdly," and was proceeding to "in conclusion, brethren, one word more," the preacher closed the Bible to give the praotioal application orally. The boy, thinking all was over, jumped to his feet and oalled out delightedly to his mother, "Oh, ma, we're going home ! " The preacher heard the remark, and, giving the lad a long look, left that " one word more " unsaid. The boy is a prime favourite in that congregation.
