+ [Pes Pbbsb Association.] SALVATIONIST BXOIIBMBNI. DUNBDIN, Sbpt. 11. A boy named Bradley, aged between three and .five years, was killed in Bong etreet, at the St David street crossing, at about a quarter to four o'olock this afternoon. Deceased was running acrosß tho road from a dray, and did not see tho steam motor ooming, and before the drivor of the latter oould pull up tho boy waß knocked dowu and killed instantaneously. Dr Batohelor and Hugh Mecneil, the wellknown orieketer, will play lawn tennis for Dunedin against Meosrs Dargaville and M'Donald, on Saturday. 'Vo-morrow they play Messrs M'Donald and Wilkinson, also of Auokland. There was great exoitement over tho arrival of Major and Mrs Barker, of the Salvation Army, from Melbourne to-night. An immense orowd assembled at the railway station, from whioh the visitors were driven to tho barracks, headed by a brass band with torches blazing. The procession was aooompanied by a largo number of larrikins hooting and yelling. As the barraoka were approaohed rotten eggs wero produoed and thrown at the Salvationists, and for about an hour there was a tremendous commotion. Some women fainted in tbe crush, and others were crying from the rough usage they received. Ihe police eventually managed to clear the streets.
