This Day. (Before John Oliivier, Esq , 8.M.) DBtnrrßNHßSS.— William Sinolair, against whom there is a prohibition order whioh has Dearly run out, was oharged with being drunk. ' The offence was proved, and he was ordered to pay 40*, or to suffer 96 hours' impriamment. Atxowino his I amp to go out.— James Hill, licensee of the Mitre Hotel, was summoned for allowing the lamp in front of that houee to go out at 2.15 a.m. on the previous morning. Acoused produced his license, on which was endorsed, signed by the Clerk to the Licensing Bench, an exemption from the olauee enforcing the licensee to bum alight in front of his premises. Mr Bogers, Olerk to the Lioensing Bench, wbb oalled, and stated that his signature above the sub-section endorsed on tho lioense waa intended m the limit of that endorsement. The Bench pointed out that the pan-graph below the signature should have been erased. On the strength of the paragraph, however, the oaae muat be dismissed.
