FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.
A Bummonod meeting of the Perseverance Lodge, U.A.0.D., was held in St Mary's sohoolroom, Addington, on Tuesday everiaf. There was a very good attendance of members and visiting brethren, inoluding P.D. Presidents Bros Tomson and Skinner, D.P. Bros Hill, J. Hadfield, Seoretary Oak of Bydenham Lodge, and others. The balancesheet was road and adopted. Ihe election of offioors was then proceeded with, and result el as follows : — A.D., Bro T. Brown j V.A., Bro R. Stephens } Secretary, Bro Greenwood (re-elected) ; Treasurer, Bro Petrio ; I G., Bro E. F. Corley ; 0.G., Bro J. Bodgers ; A. D. Bards, Bros E. Lloyd and A. Kennedy 5 Y.A. Bards, Bros F. Tozer and P. P. Oliver ; Lodge Surgeon, Bro Dr Russall; auditors, Bros W. H. Butterworth and J. 8. Palmer. The newly-eleoted officers wer» then duly in* stalled in a vory impressive manner by D.P. Bro Hill, assisted by Bros Tomson and Skinner. A vote of thanks wai accorded to the retiring officers and visiting brethren, and after the ÜBUal routine business tho Lodge was olosed in tho usual form by the A.D. The anniversary cf the Loyal Perseverance Lsdge, Woolston, was oolobrated lasc evening with a tea, concert and ball. Tho tea tables were plentifully supplied by Mr A. H. Blake, of Bigh street, and received ample justice from about 200 members and their friends. The ooncert was a great succejg, owing to the efforts of the Miegeß Moody and Mayne, Messrs M'Diarmid, O'Oallaghan, Gent, Belmore and others. The Chairman, the Rev Bro 0. H. Merton, P.G , gave an address, showing the progress of the Lodge since its formation, and advising those who were not members of some such Society to joiu at once. At Iho conclusion of the ooncert, a ball was held, the hall bsing uncomfortably filled, and dancing kept up till an early hour this morning. Great crodifc is due to tho Committee for the tastefully decorated hall.
