The Colonial Bank's report for the half- ' year shows the net profits for that tsrm to be £18,335 164 3d, and the amount available for distribution is £19,028 14i lid. Of this, £14,000 will be absorbed in paying a dividend of coven per cent, £2000 will be oarried to the reserve fund, and £3028 14s lid will be carried forward. Apeculiar mishap ocourred to the Peninsula, a small harbour steamer. She was lying alongside a small wharf at Port, and on Tuesday night there was an exceedingly high tide. Her paddle-box caught the top of the wharf, and when the tide fell Bhe remained out of water. To-day, when the tide rose again, ahe filled and sank.
