Tho following telegram was received this morning by Mr H. Thomson, from tbe Hon the Minister for Lands:— " Bangitata, 9.2 a.m. Sorry I have beon detained by rain and rivers. I hope to rcaoh Chriatchureh by 2 p.m. train, and lecvo by 4 p.m. for Wellington. Will be at Customs offico at 3 p.m., barring accident)-." The deputation f-om the City Council— Councillors Ayers, Reese, Thomson and Vincent— together with Messrs L. Harper, T. I. Joynt, Wynn- Williams, and J. Holmes, who have beeu aekfld to aocompany them, wero to wait upou Mr Bolleaton at the laßtnamtd limo, with reference to tho granting to the City Council of the Provincial Counoil Chambers.
