DESTRUCTIVE FIRE IN SYDNEY.

4 [Rkuteb's Telegbams.] SYDNEY, Sept. 3. An extensivo fire broke otit early this morning in Clarence street on the premises occupied by Messrs D. Mitchell and Co., wholesale grocers, causing the total destruction of the buildings and stock. The insurance amounts to £18,300, of which £4000 wag upon the building and £14,300 upon the stock, and is distributed amongst various offices. The loss is estimated at fully £20,000.

[Later.] The premises were insured in the New Zealand office for £1000.
