Mr Sbddon proposed— "That Olauae 55, providing that the Judges may make rules dividing the two branches of the profesaion," be struck out. The Committee divided on the question that the clause stand ac printed :— Aybs, 85 • Nobs, 38. Clause 56 was struck out on the roices. Mr Sbddon moved— "Xhnfc the fee for admission be reduced from £21 to £10 10s " The Committee divided on the question that the sum stand as printed :— Ayes, 42 ; Nobb, 82. The remainder of the clauses were then put and carried. The Cemeteries Bill was passed with amendments. MINING COMPANIES ACT, 1872, AMBNDMBNT Bill. Mr Seddok stigmatised clause 3 as an innovation on the free trade system ; it would be monstrous that persons selling scrip should remain liable for twelve months after the date of the gale. He moved—" That the clause be struck out." Mr Peacock thought it was a wioe provision, but that the time should be limited to six months. Mr Shbbhan expressed an opinion that the timo should be three instead of twelve BATING MIL. Major Habbis moved that .clause 8 be altered to read— "that the land without the buildings and improvements alone should be rated." The question was put that the clause remain at printed : — Atbb, 50 ; Nobb, 17. Clause 9 was struck out. At clause 20, Major Atkinson moved that progress be reported, with leave to sit again to-morrow. Agreed to. Ten Bills committed were read a third time and passed. The House rose at 1 a.m. until 11 a.m.
